Dave’s Story:
Dave SchaubDave Schaub loves just about anything with tires and a motor. Dave’s love started at an early age when his father, Fred, took him to the car races. Fred, a Southern California dry lakes racer in the 1930’s, taught Dave to ride motorcycles, work on cars, and instilled a passion for excellence and achievement

In 1971 Dave bought his first hotrod. Later he added other cars among them a 1932 Ford Highboy Roadster. All of Dave’s cars are well-maintained, high mileage drivers. On more than one occasion, he has been known to hop in one of his street rods and take off across the country alone.

Dave loves the solitude of the open road with its sights, smells and sounds. He says it gives him time to think and reflect without the distractions of everyday life. Armed with the planning skills he used in organizing cross-country hot rod cruises for over 10 yrs, in 2009 he drove all 49 Continental United States in his 1932 Ford Highboy Roadster in 8 days 16 hours and 48 minutes.

A man of many interests, Dave is an avid woodsman and a student of Native American skills. He also enjoys singing, composing songs, and plays guitars and Native American flutes. A big collector of all things relating to cars and racing, he collects vintage tobacco pipes, custom made knives, walking stick and watches.

In his free time you’ll find him in his garage, in his chair with his laptop, or on a 10-mile walk he does three times a week. At his business of 22 years, Schaub’s Meat, Fish and Poultry, Dave continues his family’s four-generation tradition of supplying high quality meat, fish and poultry and as well as exceptional service.

Dave is Drivin’ for the Kids with the support of his family: wife, Carol; daughter Danell; son-in-Law Chris; two granddaughters Diana, age 15, and Jessica age 9.
